In the frame of the press event Hofstetter Kurt (concept and media artist, Director of the Sunpendulum project) handed over
two of the Facing Time-Eye's artworks to Prof. Paul Ching-Wu Chu, President of the Hong Kong University of Science and
Technology (left) and Prof. Otto Lin, Vice-President for Research and Development of the HKUST (right);

On the occasion of the permanent installation of the Time-Eye of Hong Kong at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology the Office of University Development and Public Affairs, organized a press event.

The press event was held in English and took approximately 1 hour.

Following the press conference, the Time-Eye installation was visited on the roof of the University building,  where in-depth interviews were given to journalists. Finally the HKUST and Commercial Counsellors Office at the Austrian Embassy Beijing held a lunch, which allowed us to build on our relations with the University at the highest level.

Numerous guests of honour, leading HKUST representatives and journalists of the major Hong Kong newspapers attended
Welcoming words by Adrian Cheung, Media Relations / Office of University Development and Public Affairs; he moderated the press event.
The opening statement by Prof. Otto Lin, Vice-President for Research and Development of the HKUST; he brought the international media art project Sunpendulum to the HKUST.

Prof. Paul Ching-Wu Chu, President of the HKUST, pointing out the importance of interdisciplinary Arts and Science projects in particular the international Sunpendulum project with its world wide dimension.
A small introduction given by Dr. Brigitta Blaha-Silva, Austrian Consul General in Hong Kong.

Dipl. Ing. Dr. Armin Mohsen Daneshgar, representative of the Vienna University of Technology (VUT), highlighting the role of  VUT's Institute of Computer Graphics and Algorithms, which has developed the Sunpendulum software.
Josef Stockinger, Market Manager / 
Commercial Counsellors Office at the Austrian Embassy Beijing focused on Austrian activities in the field of culture.
Dr. Johannes Neumann, Director of the Vienna Representative Office Hong Kong and his assistant;
he lined up the contact to Prof. Otto Lin and the HKUST to realize the installation of the Sunpendulum Time-Eye of Hong Kong.
