STAGE 1: CHANGING MESSAGES Artists
and musicians were invited to prepare acoustic messages for Sarajevo. A
parallel action took place in Sarajevo to record messages from there.
The
messages were collected in Innsbruck and taken to Sarajevo. In March,
1995,
the messages were broadcasted regionally in Sarajevo on AM radio by
"Radio
and Television of Bosnia Herzogovina", and world wide by the ORF
(Austrian
National Broadcasting Corp.) via short wave radio.
STAGE 2: PARALLEL CROSSOVER On
March 16, 1995, the live radio-event CHANGING MESSAGES PARALLEL
CROSSOVER
took place via satellite link between Innsbruck (ORF Landesstudio
Tirol)
and Sarajevo (Radio Televizija Bosne i Hercegovine). In both radio
studios
musicians performed together in a concert, which was broadcasted live.
The collected "Messages" for and from Sarajevo were used in the concert
as basic sound and musical material, manipulated and processed by the
performing
musicians in a form of communication.
VIDEO-INFRARED-SOUND-INSTALLATION In the ORF Landesstudio Tirol there was a video-infrared-soundinstallation during the live radio-event, where the visitors could hear the audiosignal from Sarajevo, the audiosignal from Innsbruck and both together via infrared headphones. The visitors could see two pulsating energetic cross points - two videobeams pointed from the ceiling to the floor. (Video:
